What we aim for
A PlayerSDK guide should let you finish the task it describes without opening a second tab. That means real steps in the order you meet them, the version of the app the steps were written against, and a note when something differs between platforms. If a page cannot be written to that standard, we would rather not publish it.
How a guide is researched
- Hands-on first. Steps are written while following them in the app or on the device, on the platform named in the article.
- Primary sources. Version numbers, feature changes and release dates come from the publisher's own release notes, changelog or documentation — not from other blogs. Where a fact comes from a specific source, we link to it.
- No second-hand specs. Device details come from the manufacturer's own specification page.
- Official downloads only. We host no installers. Download buttons point at the publisher's own page, and we do not link to modified or repackaged builds.
Keeping pages current
Media apps change often, and a guide that matched the interface six months ago may not match it today. Every article carries a published date and an updated date. When an app's interface or behaviour changes materially, we revise the page and move the updated date; we do not quietly leave old steps in place.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. Send the article link and what is incorrect through our contact page. We aim to respond within a few working days. Factual corrections are made on the article itself and the updated date is changed; where a correction changes the meaning of a published statement, we say so on the page.
Independence and funding
PlayerSDK earns from advertising and, where marked, affiliate links. No advertiser or software publisher sees an article before it is published, and no payment buys coverage or changes an assessment. Sponsored or affiliate relationships that apply to a page are disclosed on that page; the general position is set out in our advertising disclosure.
Authorship and use of AI
Articles are published under the name of the person responsible for them. Where AI tools assist with drafting or research, the content is checked and edited by a person before publication, and that person is accountable for what appears on the page. We do not publish machine-generated text unreviewed.
What we do not do
- We do not develop, host, sell or distribute media player software.
- We do not publish guides for accessing content you are not entitled to, or for circumventing copy protection.
- We do not provide one-to-one technical support; our troubleshooting guides cover the common cases.
