What PlayerSDK is
PlayerSDK is an independent editorial site about media players and streaming hardware. Setting up a player should be simple, but between competing platforms (Android TV, Fire OS, tvOS, Tizen, webOS), a hundred different apps and a codec landscape that changes every year, it rarely is. We publish plain, step-by-step guides, hardware reference pages and release news so you can get a setup working without wading through forum threads.
We do not develop, host or distribute any media player software. Every download button on this site links to the publisher's own official page.
What we cover
How we work
Guides are written against the actual app or device, with version numbers and dates recorded so you can tell how current a page is. When an app changes and a guide stops matching what you see on screen, we update the page rather than leaving it stale. Our full standards, sourcing rules and corrections process are set out in our editorial guidelines.
Found something wrong? Tell us through the contact page and we will correct it. Corrections are made on the article itself, with the update date changed.
About the publisher
PlayerSDK is an independent publication, run by a small editorial team. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by VideoLAN, Google, Amazon, Apple, Roku, Samsung, LG or any other company whose software or hardware we write about, and all trademarks belong to their owners. The fastest way to reach us about anything on the site — corrections, coverage requests, advertising or copyright — is the contact page, which goes straight to the editorial team.
How the site is funded
PlayerSDK is funded by advertising and, where noted, affiliate links. Advertising never decides which apps or devices we cover or what we say about them. See our advertising disclosure for details.
